Explorers
The Explorers after school program promotes student success in school. Students receive instruction in basic academic skills and assistance with homework. The emphasis is on reading, writing, math and computer guided learning. Explorers staff work with the classroom teacher and parents to create a 'circle of support' to help each child be prepared and ready to learn.
Explorers runs on Monday's, Tuesday's and Thursday's from 2:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. at all six elementary schools within the Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District: Stillson, Southview, Parkview, Jim Falls, Hillcrest and Halmstad.
Two research-based initiatives have been imbedded into the design of the Explorers Program:
Explorer Facts:
- The Explorer Program represents more than 115 students from all six elementary schools.
- Each Explorer site has a 1:5 staff to student ratio.
- Explorers serves students in first, second and third grade.
