Registering Your Child for BB4C (2013-14 School Year)

Completing the Building Bridges 4 Children (BB4C) Registration Forms enrolls your child into the Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District’s (CFAUSD) 4-year-old early learning program. These forms provide the school district and the BB4C partner sites the necessary information required by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) and the Department of Health and Family Services. Even though your child may not be enrolled in wrap-around care service, the information on these forms is required for him/her to attend BB4C at a partner site.

NOTE: To complete the registration process, you must fill out ALL of the forms in the Registration Packet   and bring a copy of your child's birth certificate to the BB4C site you have selected for staff to validate your child's birthdate. Forms included in this packet are:

• 2013-14 BB4C Registration Form
• Transportation Information Form: If your child will use district bus transportation, it is essential that the transportation information in this form is accurate and complete and submitted to the site or BB4C office by August 20.
• CFAUSD Student Enrollment Form
• CFAUSD Household Enrollment Forms
• State of Wisconsin Immunization Form (DPH F-44192). Be sure to fill in the immunization dates and sign and date this form.
• Health History and Emergency Care Plan Form (CFS-2345)
• Child Health Report--Child Care Centers (CFS-60). Be sure to fill in your child's healthcare provider and have him/her sign and date this form. You can return this form to the site within 3 months after your child begins BB4C.

Building Bridges 4 Children (BB4C), the Chippewa Falls Area Unified School District's (CFAUSD) 4-year-old Early Learning program, is a public preschool for any child in the district who is 4-years-old on or by September 1st.

The district contracts or "partners" with community child care centers, Head Start, and the McDonell Area Catholic Schools to provide a quality preschool. Collaborating among partners makes services and resources accessible and equitable, decreases the number of transitions during the day for children and families, and supports the belief that "the entire community is responsible for growing our children."

Knowing that the parents and the family are the most influential component of a child's learning, the CFAUSD also partners with the River Source Family Center to provide parent involvement opportunities.

Staffed by the partner sites, BB4C teachers are certified by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) in Early Childhood education and use three different curricula to help children learn: The Creative Curriculum,  Second Step, and Tribes. The use of these curricula fosters appropriate practices for early childhood education, enables children to direct their own learning, helps build children's social and emotional health and well-being, and supports the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards which are the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction  standards that align with K-12 learning standards.

BB4C follows the public school calendar and offers morning sessions between 8:00-11:00 a.m. or afternoon sessions between 12:00-3:00 p.m. District bus transportation is available for children who do not use wrap-around care services.
