PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Chippewa Valley High School 9-10 Program focuses on reinforcing academic skills which are essential for good academic performance. Another focus is credit remediation. The goal here is to return students to the regular high school setting the following year caught up and better prepared to complete the rest of their high school graduation requirements. Through a combination of traditional teacher directed and independent classes, students are given the opportunity to reach their goals. The teachers provide a structured environment and individualized assistance when needed.
REFERRAL/ENROLLMENT
Students who enter the program must first be identified by teachers and their guidance counselor as being in need of remediation. Parents who are concerned about their eighth, ninth or tenth grader’s progress are certainly welcome to approach their student’s guidance counselor, teacher, or call us directly to ask for information. In order for students to succeed in the program, they must be committed to regular attendance and working hard. Behavioral expectations are high. Students who cannot behave respectfully toward staff and their peers will not be able to continue in the program. Students who are not functioning well in the 9th & 10th grade program can and will be sent back to the regular high school.
