PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Chippewa Valley Middle School (CVMS) was created to meet the needs of middle school students who have struggled in the traditional middle school setting. CVMS currently serves 8-10 students in grades 6-8 and is staffed by a Lead Teacher and an Instructional Assistant. The small student numbers allow for a great deal of individual attention, flexibility, and concentration on the core subject areas.
REFERRAL/ENROLLMENT
Students are referred to CVMS by the administrators and counselors at Chippewa Falls Middle School as an intervention option for students who still struggle academically or behaviorally despite previous interventions. It is important to understand that placement at CVMS is a positive option for struggling students and not meant as a disciplinary consequence.
LOCATION
CVMS is located in the district's Korger-Chestnut building at 140 W Elm Street.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Parents/Guardians looking for more information about a possible CVMS placement for their child should contact their child's counselor. For more information about the program itself, please contact Dave Schaller, Principal for the Chippewa Falls Alternative Schools (715-723-5542. ext. 6401).
