HOW IS PBIS IMPLEMENTED AT HALMSTAD?

Specific procedures for teaching and celebrating these expectations will occur throughout the year. This will be achieved through the use of:

Teach To’s– School wide instruction of expected behavior.  All behaviors are taught at the beginning of the school year, after winter break and throughout the year whenever a student or class demonstrates difficulties displaying appropriate behaviors in a particular setting.

“I’m a Hawk” Tickets– Immediate reinforcement for positive behaviors.  These are given by all staff members whenever a student is observed following the expectations.

Hawk Ticket Drawing- Each Monday teachers pick 2 tickets from the weekly accumulation of "I'm a Hawk" tickets.  Students who are drawn receieve a small prize.

Quick Slips and Office Discipline Referrals– Teaching and data collection tools to inform administration, staff, and parents of problem behaviors.

Celebrations– By following the expectations and earning "I'm a Hawk" tickets, students participate in school-wide activities to celebrate positive behavior.
