Principal's News and Notes

Dear Jim Falls Families,

As I write this newsletter, I can hardly believe that it is May! The end of the school year is a great time to reflect on the year and to celebrate the hard work and achievement of our students and staff. In the beginning of the school year, our teachers set goals to increase the reading achievement of our students. They have been diligently working to learn a new reading curriculum and incorporate new teaching strategies to provide the best education possible for our students. Because of this, our students have shown wonderful growth! I am truly proud to work with the staff at Jim Falls Elementary.

I am also extremely proud of our students! In our fourth year of PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports), we continue to model, teach, and reteach our expectations in the school, hallways, playground, and all other settings. The team set a goal to reduce the number of Discipline Referrals on the playground. This year, we have the lowest number of playground referrals that I have seen! I am happy that students are working so hard to treat each other with respect. I can tell that students are learning this at school, but also at home. Thank you for all you do to continue spreading the message at home.

Thank you for all your support this year. It has been a wonderful year! Remember to keep reading-this is the best way to prevent summer loss in aca-demic areas! Have a fun and safe summer!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Sarauer

Principal/Counselor
