Signs of Suicide (SOS)
Students will learn the Suicide Prevention program Signs of Suicide and learn how to ACT if they think another person is thinking about suicide. ACT stands for:
- Acknowledge the problem
- Care- Let the person know you care
- Tell a responsible adult
Career Unit
Students will use Xello to explore their interests, skills and learning style. Students will also match their interest and skills to a few different career clusters and possible careers. Students will begin to develop an Academic and Career plan.
Protective Behaviors
Students will learn about bullying prevention and building positive relationships.
Schools 2 Skills Tours
Based on a student's interest and skills they may be invited to sign up for a tour during the school year. The tour will visit a local business and post secondary schools to provide an opportunity to see what it would be like to work in a potential career or field. If a students goes on a S2S tour they will tour a local business and check out one of the post secondary options that fits best with that career cluster. Possible tours are Manufacturing, Health Care, Information Technology, Transportation, Business and Marketing, Agriculture and STEM. The tours are free of cost to the students.
