I completely agree with you. How can you treat addiction, with drugs that can be adicting? There is no positive outcome, from this situation. I think it is highly likely that the drugs are not helping, they are just covering up the issues for the time being.

We can all agree drugs are bad, right? Probably not but I digress. Psychedelics can have horrendous effects on the human mind and body. Such effects include impaired thought process, fits of violence, and depression which could lead to thoughts of suicide. There is information present in Gregoir’s article to explain why psychedelic drug use could have positive outcomes for those suffering from post traumatic stress disorder. However, upon further research, one will find that these drugs cause flashbacks-a key issue for PTSD victims. Along with the aforementioned fits of violence, these flashbacks could cause a so called ‘bad trip.’ One bad trip could set back years of therapy. The embarrassment and fear such a user would experience after such an occurrence may push them to want to hide away. Psychedelic drugs are possibly used to escape from an unfortunate present. The use of these drugs cannot, however, let one run away from their past. Therapy and healthy support are the best tools to help a victim of PTSD accept their past and move on to a greater life.
