I believe that smartphone usage can lead to increased dependency on staying connected and possibly even an addiction. Staying updated on what's going on in the world, connected with your friends and family, entertaining yourself with all sorts of games, apps, social media, using it for school and work, all of those can be reasons to use your phone a lot. I believe in knowing what's going on in the world, for example, the weather. We don't have cable TV so our way of getting news is through the internet. To pass time during a trip, I might watch a movie or a documentary, or listen to music.
But someone, even me, can be "addicted" to their phones, depending on how you define what an addiction is. Is using your phone three hours a day too much? Are you addicted by simple looking at your phone every five minutes? But it's not just the way you define what a cellphone addiction is, because it is quick to realize that you're spending too much time on your phone and letting work pile up. |

You can be addicted to you're phone if you are watching a good movie or show and you just want to binge watch the whole season. Other ways you can get addicted if you constantly snapchat people or text them over and over. One last way you can get addicted is if you play games on your phone and you just want to keep on winning or get that new high score. |

I think cell phone usage can be addicting when you find an app or game that you really like and play it all day. It can also be addicting when you are bored and have nothing to do. You can also be addicted to it when you want to find something out by looking stuff up. |
