I think this is why so many people say that they feel better after they go for a run. Not only does running eliminatebad stress from your mind and release endorphins making you feel good, you're also out in nature which also apparently manes you feel good too, which is awesome. |

Nature is such a beatiful thing that can help a person in so many ways. Sunshine and the breeze is so much more theraputic than any drug or medicine could ever be. There truly is nothing more that I enjoy than just spending some time outside. I really am not sure how nature could do any harm to a person, and I believe that everyone needs to just get outside for an hour a day. In the winter, sometimes I get down and sad just because I can't walk outside and spend time doing things like excercising. |

Nature definitely helps my improve my mood and the way I feel. After being outside I feel refreshed and ready for anything. I think that is why I have a job that requires me to be outside. It clears my mind and lets me put down my cell phone. The mind can be cleared and healed with the support of nature/world. That is another reason to take care of it. |

The sixth segment of this artilcle is titled "Nature does the mind good." As the article states, research from Standford University found that outdoor strolls reduced the sort of obsessive, negative thoughts that characterize depression. Can I just say, AMAZING. Our sweet earth can heal our minds and that is a phenomenal thought. Another study even linked exposure to nature with reduced impulsivity and improved self-control. Think of the influence this could have in the pharmacutical world. Instead of putting medications into our bodies, we can heal our psyche through a simple connection with mother nature. I think these findings prove that we are just as much a part of our earth as it is of us. This nature component could change the ways we use psychotherapy and could help people deal with daily emotional struggles in a healthy, constructive way. How do you feel after being outdoors? Do you think the technology "epidemic" has contributed to this disconnect with nature? I feel we have become so consumed by those tiny screens between our fingers and sharing pictures of sunsets, rather than being outside and actually experiencing them. |
