Homeroom
The PAS Program at CVHS includes a 25 minute Homeroom period as part of each school day. While Homeroom or Advisory periods in other schools can typically be used for students to complete missing or late work or get extra help from teachers, the Homeroom period in the PAS Program is set aside for goals setting and learning experiences outside the normal academic focus. Some of the focus areas for Homeroom are listed below:
- Pacing and completion goals for Independent Study classes
- Virtue Lessons - helping students identify and learn about their Strength Virtues and Growth Virtues
- Team building lessons and activities
Homeroom time is also used for students to complete a Mindful Reflection Form - which helps them identify challenges or barriers they are experiencing and reflect on possible solutions that will help them still be successful at school. The Mindful Reflection Form also gives students and opportunity to reach out to school staff for support.
